Looking Forward to ‘Virgin River’ Season 5? Here’s Everything We Know

ICYMI: Netflix has already renewed Virgin River for seasons four and five. While the fourth installment will premiere on July 20, we can’t help but wonder when Virgin River season 5 will be available to stream. So, we did a little digging and compiled a list of what to expect in the new episodes. That way, you won’t need to scour the internet when the premiere rolls around.

From the timeline to the cast list, keep scrolling for details about Virgin River season 5.

1. When will 'Virgin River' season 5 premiere?

Unfortunately, Netflix hasn’t released an official premiere date for Virgin River season 5. Since season three premiered last July, it’s no surprise the fourth installment is debuting around the same time this year. However, there’s a small chance the fifth season will be delayed, according to Alexandra Breckenridge (who plays Melinda “Mel” Monroe).

Breckenridge dropped the bombshell during an interview with Glamour magazine, where she revealed that Virgin River’s delay allowed for her to reprise her character, Sophie, on This Is Us. “We were supposed to start shooting season five of Virgin River in March, but it was pushed to July,” she said. “So, had we started when we were supposed to, I don’t know that Sophie and Kevin would’ve ended up together.”

2. What is 'Virgin River' about?

Virgin River tells the story of Melinda “Mel” Monroe, a nurse practitioner who is looking for a fresh start after losing her husband, Mark. The first two seasons follow Mel as she adjusts to small-town living, while the third installment further explores her relationship with Jack.

3. Who stars in 'Virgin River'?

Virgin River features an all-star cast, including Alexandra Breckenridge (Mel), Martin Henderson (Jack), Colin Lawrence (Preacher), Lauren Hammersley (Charmaine), Tim Matheson (Vernon, or “Doc”), Annette O’Toole (Hope), Jenny Cooper (Joey), Lexa Doig (Paige), Ben Hollingsworth (Brady), Daniel Gillies (Mark), Zibby Allen (Brie), Sarah Dugdale (Lizzie) and Nicola Cavendish (Connie).

4. Is there a trailer for 'Virgin River' season 5?

The answer is no. It’s important to note that we aren’t expecting a trailer for quite some time because Virgin River season four is coming first. Therefore, the fifth installment isn’t supposed to premiere until next year.
