Seven years ago today, mountain biking floated into the internet's conscience in a viral video.

On October 12, 2016, Danny MacAskill’s Wee Day Out below captivated the non-riding public.

This video was one of the biggest sensations to go viral out of the mountain bike world. Most of the time the general public does not understand the nuances of what makes a riding video impressive.

That is not the case for Danny. Everyone can appreciate a rider hopping over buildings and coasting on a rolling hay bale.

Wee Day Out showcased some of Danny MacAskill's most creative riding yet. He chose to ride a full-suspension mountain bike rather than his traditional trials bike.

What this video encapsulates best is the beauty of the Scottish countryside. The scenery is unrivaled. Even the less seemly aspects of the country are featured in Wee Day Out. Maybe the funniest part of the video happens when Danny rides through a puddle taller than him.

Wee Day Out is the type of video that your aunt shares with you. Even though by the time these things make the rounds on Facebook, most riders have seen it, it's still nice to know people are thinking of you and at least tolerating your dangerous hobby.
