Looking Back at all The Characters That Died in "13 Reasons Why"
As any fan of 13 Reasons Why probably knows by now, no one is safe at Liberty High. Over the past few years, fans have had to say goodbye to some of their favorite characters and some other very questionable ones over the years. Even in the show's fourth and final season, fans knew that not everyone would make it out alive. We're taking a look back at all the characters that died throughout the series and giving them one final sendoff as 13 Reasons Why comes to an end.

Season 1:
Hannah Baker
Hannah took her own life at the end of season one. After Bryce raped her and she tried to seek help with no success, she recorded the tapes explaining why 13 specific people had something to do with her death.
Jeff Atkins
Although he died before season one, Jeff played a major part in Clay's story. It was revealed during the season that Sheri knocked down a stop sign and while driving. While Hannah wanted to report that it was down, Sheri didn't want to get in trouble and just told her to leave it alone. Jeff was driving past and since the sign was down, he kept going, causing him to die in a car crash.
Season 3:
Bryce Walker
Fans were shocked when the season three trailer dropped showing that Bryce was dead and the entire season revolved around the police trying to figure out who did it. Zach met up with Bryce out at the pier and beat him up out of anger after Bryce broke his leg during a football game, making him unable to play anymore. Zach left him on the pier and Jessica and Alex came there to meet up with him. Bryce gives Jess the tape he recorded for her and the two decide to help him and not leave him there overnight as he's unable to get up by himself. However, Bryce starts yelling about how much he plans to get revenge on Zach. Alex, angry that Bryce still hasn't learned his lesson, pushes him off the pier where he drowns and dies.
Monty de la Cruz
After Tyler reported that Monty sexually assaulted him, he gets arrested and put in jail. Monty was killed after the other prisoners found out that he was a rapist. He was attacked with a shiv and was left to die. In an effort to make sure that Alex and the rest of the group don't get arrested in the case surrounding Bryce's death, they decide to pin the blame on Monty.
Season 4:
Justin Foley
After relapsing at the end of season four, Justin gets sick, which everyone writes off as him just struggling with getting clean again. Justin decided to go to the prom last minute where he was able to share one last dance with Jessica before he collapsed on the dance floor. At the hospital, it's revealed that he has HIV and it has turned into AIDS, which he likely contracted from doing drugs or for when he did sex work when he was homeless. Since it was caught too late and he already had advanced stages of pneumonia, it was too late for Justin and he died shortly after.
