Free People

If there’s one brand that radiates summer energy, it’s Free People. Its breezy, boho pieces feel effortlessly cool—so cool, in fact, that even Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lopez wear styles from the retailer. Ahead of the season, Free People has dropped more than 1,000 new arrivals to help get your closet up to speed. Even for a professional online shopper, that’s a lot—but fortunately for you, I’m always up for a challenge.

After sorting through 21 pages of new arrivals, these are the 10 Free People items I’m still thinking about, including a not-so-basic denim mini skirt, easy cotton set, quite a few summer dresses, and more, starting at just $30. But don’t wait; as a seasoned Free People shopper, I know all too well that the best styles sell out quickly.

10 New Free People Summer Arrivals

Mila Mini Dress

It was love at first sight with the Mila Mini sack dress, which has a smocked, square neckline, darling puffed sleeves, and a relaxed fit. It’s one of those styles that manages to be dressed up and cute with next to no effort, but is also the comfiest thing in your closet (aka, the best type of dress you can own). “This dress is kinda magical,” said one fan of the versatile style, while another wrote that it’s “perfect for date night and the beach.” Plus, given that it’s available in 10 colors—including a range of classic and summer-inspired shades—you’re sure to find one that fits into your existing wardrobe.

Maxine Skirt Set

One of my favorite things to get from Free People is a set; if you wear it as is you have the perfect outfit in seconds, but you also now have two pieces you can mix and match with other things in your closet. The Maxine Skirt Set—which is already selling out in select colors—is one of my favorites from the summer drop because it’s simple; it features a perfectly cropped tank top and a body-hugging midi-skirt, two basics you’ll wear over and over again. “It is just the perfect basic set,” wrote one shopper, adding that they loved it so much they ordered a second color. And per someone else, the quality of the set is impressive, describing the material as “nice and thick but still soft.”

Sienna Paper Bag Trousers

There’s nothing I love more during the summer than a relaxed, teetering-on-oversized pair of pants, so of course the Sienna Paper Bag Trousers are in my cart. The 100-percent cotton pants feature a wide-leg and high, fitted waist that is fastened with a drawstring, a detail we just saw Jennifer Lopez wear. While I would most likely wear these pretty casually—think a cropped white tee and easy Birks—it can just as easily be dressed up with a heeled sandal and fitted bodysuit or an equally breezy blouse.

Free People’s new arrivals have only made me more excited for summer. Shop more of the styles I’m planning to wear the moment it hits 80 degrees, below.
