How to Look Wide-Awake Without Makeup

Did you hit the snooze button one too many times this morning? Or have spring allergies left you looking like you just pulled an all-nighter? Get rid of those tired eyes in a flash with the help of one nifty beauty tool that’s hiding in your makeup bag.

“There’s more to do in a day than ever before, and we’re all tired whether you have kids or not,” says celebrity makeup artist (and new mom of three) Jamie Greenberg, who partnered with Zyrtec to share her tips on combating the dreaded “allergy face.” Since time is of the essence and getting out of the house not looking like a wreck is essential, put down your coffee (just for a bit) and pick up your eyelash curler (remember that tool?). “Hold it on your eye for a few seconds. It really opens up the eye,” says Greenberg, who prefers her Shiseido Eyelash Curler ($20) since it’s so skinny it fits almost any eye shape. “Then apply mascara, if you want, and head out.”

If you’re in need of a more polished look, pop an all-in-one palette in your purse for primping on-the-go. “Buy a compact that has everything in it, so you don’t have to have 50 products in your bag,” says Greenberg, who works with Kaley Cuoco. “My favorite is literally called Out the Door ($68) by Ever, and it includes everything like the steps and corresponding brushes. It’s easy.”

Have a few more minutes? Master one hairstyle. “For me, I blow dry my bangs, part my hair in the middle, and make two braids and pin them around my head like a crown braid,” says Greenberg. “I get so many compliments, and it’s the easiest one in the world.”
