Toei and Sony Pictures have shared behind-the-scenes footage for the upcoming live-action Knights of the Zodiac. Based on the manga Saint Seiya created by Masami Kurumada in 1986, the footage was revealed for the first time at San Diego Comic-Con.

“Five young warriors are recruited to be Knights of the Zodiac, an elite cosmic force dedicated to protecting the Greek goddess Athena and the planet Earth,” the movie’s description reads.

The footage offers an inside look into how the film is being made ahead of its 2023 premiere. Actors rehearse martial arts scenes, perform stunts in the desert and sit atop motorcycles.

Knights of the Zodiac stars Mackenyu, Madison Iseman, Sean Bean, Famke Janssen, Diego Tinoco and Mark Dacascos. Animator Tomasz Baginski is directing.

Toei producer Yoshi Ikezawa said that filmmakers are already "looking at six movies as a package,” with a sequel to the inaugural film potentially on the table, according to Variety.
