Loki spoilers follow.

Loki director Kate Herron has opened up about exploring Loki's bisexuality and revealed that the show won't go any deeper.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the show's director was asked whether this season will explore Loki's (Tom Hiddleston) sexual identity any further than his coming-out line to Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) in episode 3 'Lamentis'.

It was also hinted at whether the audience will see him act on those feelings.

"I would say in our story, this is how we acknowledge it. But I hope that that paves the way for deeper exploration," she said.

While the reveal of Loki as the first openly queer Marvel character was celebrated by fans, it's one thing saying he is and another showing it.

Heron at least seems to think the same, as she said: "Obviously, like I've said, it's very personal to me, and I said it was a small step in some ways – because obviously, he's just talking about it – but in the bigger scale of things, I'm like, oh no, it's massive actually.

"If I saw that when I was 10, it would be really big for me. It's been really nice getting comments from people online. Some people were like, 'It helped me actually talk about how I feel to my family and helped me come out.' And I thought, 'Well, if it helped one person do that, then it's worth it.'"

For those fans looking for more bisexual action from Loki, look no further than the comics where the character has been confirmed queer for a long time. It just took TV a while to catch up.

Loki is streaming exclusively on Disney+, with new episodes every Wednesday.
