Logansport Farmers Market to open Saturday

May 2—The Logansport Farmers Market will open at 8 a.m. Saturday morning. The opening comes a month earlier than normal and the first 200 families in attendance will receive a free shopping bag.

The Farmers Market will run from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday though October.

The market will be open from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays during the months of July, August and September.

The Logansport Farmers Market is Logansport's 100% true local market. Every product is sold by the producers themselves and made within a seven-county area including Cass, Howard, Miami, Fulton, White, Pulaski and Carroll counties.

This year's Farmers Market will offer in-season fresh vegetables and fruits of all kinds, meat (chicken, beef, burgers and brats, pork, game bird meat, lamb), eggs, mushrooms, honey, maple syrup, jams and jellies and honey mead. Baked goods will include cinnamon rolls, tea rings, sourdough bread, cookies, pies, cakes, scones and cake pops.

Other items include feather art, custom wood signs, handmade jewelry, fresh flower bouquets, diamond painting, greeting cards, homemade soaps, dog treats, freeze-dried products, herbs & spices, hand-painted art, knitted or crocheted items, hot pads, hand-woven rag rugs, baby quilts and much more.

Once a month, the Farmers Market tries to feature a local organization to share their mission with the community. If space permits, local not-for-profits may apply to set up a one-time, complimentary booth. Local musicians are also featured at the Farmers Market on a regular basis. If your musical group or not-for-profit organization wishes to apply, contact info@logansportfarmersmarket.org.
