Logan Paul is back on YouTube and really sorry this time

It’s been a little less than a month since YouTube star Logan Paul posted a disturbing video filmed in an infamous suicide forest in Japan. Backlash over the tone-deaf video came fast, and not even a tearful apology video could get him out of hot water. Despite YouTube promising “further consequences” for Paul, he is already back to reflect on his mistakes.

Paul sat down with a suicide attempt survivor and some leading suicide prevention experts to try to learn more about suicide. Perhaps this knowledge would have been useful before he traveled to the infamous suicide forest. Paul seems to want to learn more so he can help in the future, but says he doesn’t have much awareness about the issue. Expert Bob Forrest asked Paul, “You’ve never known anyone who killed themselves? In Ohio, where you come from, it’s the second leading cause of death.”

In the video, Paul says he wants to try to be more compassionate, but we don’t know if that’s really on brand for him and his fans — the Lo-gang — given their previous videos.

Logan Paul pledged to donate $1 million to various suicide prevention programs. and continue to raise awareness about this issue.
