Drew Carey ambushed by a very excited fan on 'The Price Is Right'

Drew Carey has been the host of The Price Is Right for 10 years, so he’s seen his fair share of crazy contestants. But today’s contestant Sona might take the cake.

Sona was called onstage after correctly guessing the price of a treadmill. Obviously, she was overcome with excitement and attempted to give Carey an aggressive hug, something Carey wasn’t prepared before. Carey and Sona both took a tumble backward, nearly knocking off Carey off the stage. Luckily parts of the stage were able to stop Carey’s fall. Carey is the consummate pro and was able to play it off despite some embarrassment.

Even though Sona nearly knocked Carey headfirst off of the stage, her over-the-top excitement couldn’t be contained. After attempting to help Carey up, she briefly apologized for the gaff but quickly went back to unbridled excitement.

After a near monumental accident, it’s surprising that the powers that be at The Price Is Right still happened to let her play for a car. Maybe karma or just being a little unlucky caught up with Sona, as she missed out on a car. Still, she did end up going home with $3,000.

Sure, $3,000 is a good prize and all, but being the contestant who nearly took out Drew Carey is something that will last forever.
