Logan Lerman Releases Never-Before-Seen “Perks of Being a Wallflower” Pictures

If you haven’t fired up Netflix to re-watch The Perks of Being a Wallflower yet, these throwback photos from the cast might just be the nostalgic push you need.

On Friday, April 24, actor Logan Lerman (who played Charlie in the 2012 film adaptation of Stephen Chbosky’s novel) shared a series of black-and-white pictures taken on a disposable camera while filming the movie’s graduation scene. “Thought I’d share some photos from the making of Perks,” Logan wrote alongside the photo carousel. “They were taken on a disposable camera during the graduation sequence with the intention to use them for production design, but now they serve as tokens from a very special experience.”

The photo collection includes snaps of Emma Watson glammed up in formalwear, along with fellow costars Ezra Miller, Mae Whitman, Reece Thompson, and Erin Wilhelmi. Scrolling through the pics definitely feels like a blast from the past, and will undoubtedly bring you right back to that rush of emotion from reading (or watching) the tunnel scene for the very first time.

Logan’s fans would certainly agree. “Oh no I’m crying,” one person wrote, with another commenting: “The best movie!!” Plenty of other fans decided that the actor’s snaps were “a sign” they needed to re-watch the 2012 film immediately — which is luckily easy to do now that it’s streaming on Netflix as of the beginning of April.

It’s clear that Perks doesn’t just mean a lot to fans, but to the actors as well. In 2013, Logan opened up to Entertainment Weekly about how tightly the cast bonded while filming, comparing their hotel living situation to residing in a college dorm. “We’d come back to our hotel rooms at the end of the day, hang out,” he recalled “We looked at each other and said, ‘We have no idea what this movie’s going to be. It could be terrible. It could be good.’ You never know. But regardless, it’ll always be really special for us ’cause we had so many good times making it and became tight friends during that process. But fortunately, we all saw the film and were like, ‘Oh, hey, it worked out. It’s pretty good.’” Good? More like infinite.
