Local stables selling all-natural fertilizer
BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — As the spring season rolls on, it’s time to get out there and get your garden ready for growing.
One of the best fertilizers you can get comes straight from your local horse stable.
Hideaway Stables in Beckley sells all-natural horse manure by the bucketful.
Jordan Bowyer, owner of the stable, said this business was in place long before he was.
“The horse manure has tons of nitrogen in it. It’s great for growing gardens. My dad started selling it long before I was born and we have repeat customers every year,” said Bowyer.

It is well known that veggies like cucumbers, tomatoes, and zucchini need a good amount of nitrogen to grow well.
Horse manure is all-natural, which means you get that necessary nitrogen, without putting artificial chemicals in your soil.
Bowyer says that the first day you spread it there is a bit of a smell, but after a few days that will disappear completely, and you will be extremely happy come harvest time in the fall.
