Local Freeride Pros Rebuild Jump Line In "Cedar Dust Revival"

One thing that is cool about a town with a lot of highly skilled freeriders is that there is a big pool of people to build jump lines.

Bellingham, Washington is one of those places. Watch local freeriders rebuild the Cedar Dust pro line of jumps on Galbraith Mountain below.

This endeavor was spearheaded by Tenet Components and focal freerider Talus Turk, who will be competing in Rampage this year.

According to Turk, these jumps were in disrepair and needed a touch-up. They brought in an excavator and steepened the lips on the jumps to make them bigger.

Among some Bellingham riders, this move was controversial. Although the steeper jumps are better to progress for pros learning backflips, the modifications to the jumps turned them from a large but doable line into a second unattainable proline for the vast majority of riders while Blue Steel already exists.

“I am just so thankful for this opportunity to build a line that matches my style of riding,” Turk said in the video. While this is true, Talus is not like most riders, and the modifications he made continue a trend of making jumps steeper so a small number of riders can do backflips.

This rebuild turns a double black line that users can progress up from to another proline that is an enormous step up from the black diamond level line next to it.

The steeper lips have given many riders trouble and one of them has been deemed by multiple people to be close to impossible to clear. Watch Local rider Eric Olsen come up short on jump in one of his clips here.

The jumps remain closed to the public as there are some tweaks being made.
