Local author shares the importance of preserving forests

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Pacific Northwest is home to some of the most beautiful places on earth and a lot of it is thanks to the beautiful forests and trees that surround us.

One local author is taking a look at the forests and explaining why their preservation is so important.

AM Extra was joined by Kirk Hanson, co-author of “A Forest of Your Own,” to talk about the book and ecological forestry.
