This article has been updated since its initial publish date as the 2023 Met Gala approaches on May 1, 2023.

We still haven’t recovered from Kim Kardashian‘s Marilyn Monroe moment from the 2022 Met Gala, but the SKIMS founder’s history-making red carpet ensemble wasn’t the only look from last year’s event to get people talking! As we prepare for fashion’s biggest night of 2023 (which will take place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on May 1st), we thought it would be fun to take a look back at the most memorable and sultry ensembles of 2022.

In addition to some of the other jaw-dropping Met Gala red carpet looks, the after parties also had their fair share of incredible fashion too. This year’s theme will be Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, and last year’s was In America: An Anthology of Fashion.

There were eccentric dresses, dresses with high slits (of course!) and so many skirts and dresses with non-existent hemlines. We saw a *lot* of mini dresses at the various Met Gala after parties thanks to everyone from Blake Lively to Kourtney Kardashian, to name just two.

Here are just a few of our very favorites…

Blake Lively

After changing out of her attention-grabbing Atelier Versace gown that spectacularly changed color on the red carpet (yes, really!) the former Gossip Girl star switched things up and went for a red hot super mini dress for the after party, also by the Italian fashion house. And we were just as floored by her after party look, most likely due to her supermodel-rivaling legs; not to mention the dress’s super-daring low cut plunging front!

Lily James

Lily James has clearly got a taste for flashing the flesh in sexy ensembles, as we think her sartorial style has gotten a lot racier since she portrayed Pamela Anderson in Hulu’s Pam & Tommy limited series. We’re confident that the Baywatch star would approve of this look, which consists of a super mini dress held together with just a few safety pins, akin to Elizabeth Hurley’s iconic Versace safety pin dress that she wore way back in 1994! (We love how Donatella is bringing back vintage Versace!) And the dress was *so* revealing that underwear definitely can’t have been an option! Woah!

Kourtney Kardashian

Just wow! The Poosh founder saved her best outfit for the after party, as she flaunted those famous Kardashian curves in a bold, provocative mini dress with a barely-there hemline and a corset style top. Travis Barker clearly couldn’t get enough!

Olivia Rodrigo

Donatella Versace was a busy woman prior to the Met Gala. As well as dressing Olivia and a number of different celebs for the red carpet, she also dressed the “Déjà vu” singer for the after party at Zero Bond, which the likes of Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber were also attending. And her pink tweed mini dress with racy side cut-outs and a daring plunging front left everyone speechless! We’re obsessed with the pigtails too!

Emily Ratajkowski

When you’re invited to Cardi B’s Met Gala 2022 after party at the Boom Boom Room, you know that it’s going to be lit. And you also know that the dress code is going to call for sexy and party-ready ensembles. And EmRata certainly delivered with her green micro mini dress that came complete with a sexy plunging front and sheer cut-out detailing in the middle to show off her washboard abs.

Winnie Harlow

Winnie was yet another star who brought her sartorial A-game to Cardi B’s after party thanks to her super-daring long-sleeved micro mini Dundas dress, which was a stark contrast to the romantic yet futuristic Iris van Herpen couture gown she wore on the Met Gala red carpet just a few hours earlier.

Cara Delevingne

The British model also wanted to show off her legs at one of the Met Gala after parties; and we don’t blame her, if we had literal supermodel legs, we would display them at every opportunity! Even more so if the dress we would be displaying them in was as stunning as Cara’s glittering Dior piece. We love how her dress commanded all of the attention and she was able to wear flat boots and still not look underdressed. Is it Cara’s supermodel power or is it the Dior dress? A little bit of both, we think!

Camila Cabello

She may have floated along the Met Gala red carpet in an angelic white Prabal Gurung gown, but the “Havana” singer went in the total opposite direction for her after party look! And we are just as obsessed with it!

We can’t wait for the 2023 Met Gala looks, as the event will take place in just a few days. The upcoming theme, Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, will honor Karl Lagerfeld, the iconic Chanel artistic director following his death in 2019. Vogue revealed in January that the Met Gala’s 2023 hosts are Penélope Cruz, Michaela Coel, Roger Federer, Dua Lipa and Anna Wintour, who will also serve as the night’s official co-chairs.
