Lizzo shares powerful song urging her followers to vote: 'Do you know what time it is?'

Not sure if you’re going to vote in November? Let Lizzo convince you otherwise.

The singer/rapper has posted a number of essential messages on social media about Black Lives Matter protests in the wake of the killings of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor.

She utilized her musical talents to share a call to action with her Instagram followers on June 2.

“Hey, world, what’s up?” she sings in the video. “You know what’s up? Do you know what time it is? It’s time to vote!”

In the text over the video, she called on residents of seven states and Washington, D.C., to vote in their primaries, and encouraged people to “make a change today.”

Primaries not only determine the candidates for the presidency, but for local government positions as well. Local elections can make a massive difference in the day-to-day lives of residents in every single community, from public safety initiatives to police department funding.

Those elections have since ended, but in the next few weeks, there will be several more across the country — and of course, it’s never too early to start thinking about who you’ll vote for, down-ballot come November.

In her caption, Lizzo also shared links to multiple websites where people can register to vote, such as BallotReady and HeadCount.
