Lizzo Rocked Her MTV VMAs 2019 Performance in Front of a Giant, Bouncing Booty

This day will go down in history because Lizzo's MTV Video Music Awards 2019 performance just forever changed our lives.

Singing some of her major hits, including "Good as Hell" and "Truth Hurts," Lizzo's stage backdrop included a larger than life booty. She was also joined by a group of backup dancers flawlessly channeling the singer's energy. On top of that, the musician showed off her artistry, dipping into a gospel music version of a couple of her songs, which definitely made us all want to join the Church of Lizzo.

And as if all that wasn't epic enough, she took the time to send an encouraging note to all those watching at home. Instructing everyone watching to lose themselves in the music for one moment, and instead "feel good as hell," the rapper had everyone in the crowd, including Queen Latifah, moving.

Following the show stopping medley of tunes, many on Twitter quickly took to their timelines to show support for Lizzo. As writer Stephen Thompson noted, the number was maybe just enough to turn 2019 around. "Lizzo singing her face off in front of a gigantic bouncing CGI a*s as Queen Latifah danced and grinned approvingly just made me forget, however briefly, that the world is an exploding toilet of nightmares," Thompson wrote. Others also weighed in with their approval of the caboose, and Lizzo, writing, "WE STAN AN UPLIFTING GODDESS" and "Lizzo serving megachurch musical director energy in front of a giant inflatable booty >" And now, I must ask, when will we finally give Lizzo a national monument?! After this performance, it's truly what she, and we as a nation, deserve.
