Lizzo Posted a Lingerie Video and It’s Giving Us Life

Leave it to Lizzo to bring a smile to our faces when we need it most.

On April 20, the "Truth Hurts" singer took to Instagram to share an uplifting video with her followers. The video finds her dancing around in some of her finest black lingerie. "It’s been a long *ss day. Focus on a body part u don’t like about yourself and show it some love today," she wrote in the caption.

"This quarantine has a lot of people suffering from mental health issues because we can’t get out and do our normal coping/self care routines.... self hatred was starting to creep up on me but I gotta remember I’m 110% that b*tch," she continued.

Of course, Lizzo couldn't be more right and her post is the pick me up and mood boost we never knew we needed! Social isolation has proven to be immensely triggering to those fighting eating disorders and body image issues, and many online have expressed thoughts about weight gain during this period. Lizzo's post is a reminder of how despite the challenges we're currently facing, our bodies are still worthy of love and celebration — and we stan even harder than before.

Of course, her post also shows how iconic she looks in lingerie, and many fans agree. "Lizzo, I dont know if you will see this but you make me feel so confident in my curves," one fan commented on the post. "I was constantly bullied for my curves and then when it became 'okay' to be curvy it hurt me even more because Suddenly when it was hot to have curves I was noticed. But I have become so confident in myself and loving who I am no matter what a man says. I love you and thank you.”

"Lizzo is the best and we need to support each other as women and don’t throw stones when you live in a glass house! Self love and confidence is amazing," another fan added.

Unfortunately (though not surprisingly), the comments were also filled with trolls attempting to body-shame Lizzo. But in the year 2020, we have absolutely no time for that!

For many, Lizzo's post is a healthy reminder to take love ourselves during this stressful period, and it's so great to see her opening up about the difficulties she's been enduring as well. It also serves as the motivation we needed to go and buy some fire lingerie for ourselves — online, of course.
