Lizzo went for it and drunkenly slid into the DMs of Captain America himself, Chris Evans, over the weekend—and Evans' response, complete with a 😘 emoji, didn't disappoint. Lizzo documented her pursuit of Evans on TikTok, along with her relatably freaking out over his response to her.

Lizzo lip-synced to Tatayanna Mitchell's audio in both her videos, which said, “The reason I’m upset about this one is because I know I’m not going to be able to marry him. And honestly, it hurts me to the core because damn papa he a rare breed, no comparing! Like, Chris!!”

In her first TikTok, Lizzo shared the DM she sent to Evans, which was three emojis: a wind blowing emoji, woman playing basketball, and a basketball: basically, Lizzo shooting her shot. She captioned the video, “Don’t drink and DM, kids.... for legal porpoises this is a joke.”

In her second TikTok video, a duet with her first one, Lizzo paired her first TikTok with Evans' response to her DM and her cheering. She also revealed Evans, who wasn't following her before on Instagram, now is following her. He wrote, “No shame in a drunk DM 😘 god knows I’ve done worse on this app lol 🤦🏻”

Both Lizzo and Evans are single currently. In March, Lizzo was photographed with a “mystery man” (aka someone not famous) and sparked dating rumors. She shut those down on her Instagram, revealing she is single.

Evans was last linked to Lily James in summer 2020. James is now rumored to be dating Michael Shuman.

Evans did talk to ELLE in April 2017 though about how he has never had a bad breakup. When asked about how he handles running into his actress exes in Los Angeles, Evans responded, “It's very rare. But I've had no bad breakups in my life. Typically, if I see an ex, I give a big hug, and it's wonderful to catch up. If you're ever fortunate enough to love someone and have them love you back, it's worth protecting that. It's rare that someone can truly know you. And if you've broken through that kind of wall, I think it's important to value that.”
