Lizzo Clapped Back After Getting Kicked Out of Her Vacation Rental Early
"You can't stop this black girls' shine."
Yesterday, clapback queen Lizzo didn't hold back when she let her Instagram followers know that she and her friends got kicked out of a vacation rental early. While they had booked a seven-day reservation, Lizzo says that she got kicked out three days early. Though she doesn't name names (keep it classy), she did let everyone know exactly what went down and told the man who kicked her out that her new rental was better, anyway.
"This is for the man that kicked me out of my seven-day rental three days early yesterday," she captioned a video of herself twerking in a red swimsuit. "This is for mocking the way that I dance and for using Instagram footage of me and my six black homegirls to say that we could ‘hurt him’ and threaten to call the police."

Her caption continued, saying that she wouldn't let him get her (or her friends) down, though she didn't elaborate on any of the other circumstances that she mentioned.
"I know you’re watching my page," she finished, "so I just want you to know you can’t stop this black girls' shine. Thanks for kicking us out cus this house is better anyways. Xoxo."

Throughout the weekend, Lizzo shared clips on her Instagram Story of her friends soaking up the sun, dancing, and generally enjoying life away from the chaos. She's not keeping quiet about what's going on in the headlines, however. In an Instagram posted last month, she opened up about the Black Lives Matter movement and her place in it.
"I've been trying to stay composed this entire time. I'm really working on it this entire time. Let me just gather myself," she said. "It's not that hard to see. The people that don't see it don't want to see it. I don't have sympathy for people who don't see it anymore. Black people are tired. We are so tired."
She did leave her fans with a positive message.
"This is the most outrage I've seen as a country, and that is starting to give me the first semblance of hope I've had in a long time," she said. "I really do believe in the good of people, and maybe that makes me naïve, but I've seen Minneapolis rise up and do incredible things. I hope that everybody can just really see this shit for what it is. Open your mind, open your heart, listen, believe."
