Lizzo and Ariana Grande Released a "Good as Hell" Remix Collaboration

Queens of hair tossing.

Stop the world and hold on to your seats because Lizzo and Ariana Grande have joined forces to create the boppiest of bops.

At midnight on October 25, the two singers dropped a remix of Lizzo's 2016 feel-good anthem “Good as Hell,” which originally appeared on her Coconut Oil EP. This isn’t the first time “Good as Hell” has gotten the remix treatment (there are currently four remix versions of the song available to stream), but it is the first time it features a guest artist.

Enlisting the help of Ari, the new version of the track kicks off with Lizzo’s already beloved lyrics and melody as Ari jumps in after the first chorus with her own verse. “'Cause he better know my worth / There's so much that I deserve / But I ain't worried now, Imma let my hair down / He been tryin' it, but not today,” Ari croons in the song.

For the pre-chorus, chorus and outro, Ari’s trademark honeyed falsetto riffs melt with Lizzo’s power vocals, coming together to create beautiful and strong harmonies. “The most fun, thank you @lizzo for having me on this remix !! i love you, your energy and this record so so much,” Ari shared on Twitter after the song came out.

Fans, of course, are already loving the collab. “Lizzo and ari joining forces....... suddenly my mental health is at 100 and my skin is clear god bless my queens,” a fan wrote upon listening to the remix. “I didn't know how much I'd love Ari's voice on this 😍Lizzo sis, y'all did it again,” another fan added.

Prior to its release, Lizzo had teased the song on Thursday, October 24, during one of her Instagram lives — which she later also shared across her social channels confirming it was indeed a “Good as Hell” remix that was dropping at midnight. While she did not reveal her collaborator then, she did give out a major clue. “If you can guess the size of this Starbucks drink, you’ll know what I’m talking about,” the “Juice” singer jokingly hinted.

Ari herself then later confirmed the remix was coming, sharing a small snippet of her verse on her Instagram stories. “We got a sweet little remix of ‘Good as Hell’ coming to you tonight. Thank you for thinking of me @lizzobeeating,” the “7 Rings” singer wrote accompanying the clip.

Both Ari and Lizzo are no strangers to chart-reigning bops — Lizzo’s “Truth Hurts,” which still currently sits atop the Billboard Hot 100 list, is the longest-running song for a solo female rapper while, earlier this year, Ari became the first act since The Beatles to ever hold the number one, two and three spots on the same list at the same time — so it's safe to assume the remix could follow suit soon. Now, if you need me this weekend, you can find me bopping to this non-stop.
