Living art installation unveiled in Mount Gretna

MOUNT GRETNA, Pa. (WHTM) — A new living art installation was unveiled at the Mount Gretna Playhouse this weekend.

It was designed and constructed by Ryan Fretz, an artist, and will be on display all summer for Lebanon Valley’s Year of the Arts.

This year’s piece is “Living Artwork.”

“The structure is wrapped in live moss and will be kept alive by misting and hopefully not too much sun will come and scorch it,” Fretz said. “It’s always tricky when you’re working with moss as a medium because you do have to deal with nature.”

Fretz says this piece will be tended to throughout the summer to help keep it alive.
