We’re setting the record straight after fans thought Ryan Seacrest wore a NSFW outfit on Live with Kelly and Ryan.

It all started during yesterday’s episode of the popular morning show, which focused on Election Day. In one particular shot, Seacrest is sitting in his chair and staring directly at the camera. The problem? The co-host is wearing a flesh-colored pant suit that—under the studio’s intense lighting—looks like his actual skin. (#Awkward)

Fans immediately assumed the worst, thinking Seacrest purposely chose to wear no pants on national television. (You know, kind of like when reporter Will Reeve appeared on Good Morning America with no trousers, wrongly assuming the camera would only show the top half of his body.)

Producers documented the mix-up on the official Live with Kelly and Ryan Instagram account by re-sharing a photo with an “LOL” GIF (screenshot above). The caption read, “Did Ryan chose NOT to wear pants on Election Day?”

The news comes just a few weeks after his co-host, Kelly Ripa, hosted an episode of Live alone. Since the entire crew is required to abide by strict social distancing protocol, they must produce a negative COVID-19 test every single week. For some unforeseen reason, Seacrest wasn’t able to do so. So, Ripa led the talk show by herself until they received her co-host’s results.

Lesson learned: Flesh-colored outfits don’t mix well with heavy lighting and cameras.
