The Little Women Trailer Has Finally Arrived

This Christmas Greta Gerwig’s much-anticipated take on Little Women will hit the big screen—and today the official trailer for the film has finally arrived. Featuring a star-studded cast, the first teaser shows Emma Watson, Saoirse Ronan, Meryl Streep, Timothée Chalamet, Laura Dern, and more in full 19th-century regalia. (Is it too early to generate Oscars buzz?)

Based on the classic novel by Louisa May Alcott, the plot follows four teenage girls—Jo, Amy, Meg, Beth—living in Massachusetts in the 1860s, following the Civil War. Their mother is played by Dern; Streep plays their old-fashioned aunt. Chalamet, meanwhile, plays the neighbor trying to court Ronan’s character, Jo. But she’s not having it: “Women have minds, and they have souls, as well as just hearts,” Jo says in the trailer. “And they’ve got ambition, and they’ve got talent, as well as just beauty. I’m so sick of people saying that love is just all a woman is fit for, I’m so sick of it!”

Below, watch the first trailer.
