Little Dog Gets Put in 'Air Jail' After Getting Caught Chasing After the Cat

Look, sometimes your dog is going to be naughty. We know, say it isn't so! Which means one thing: air jail. You know what we're talking about. When you lift your dog in the air to get them to stop the offending behavior. Well one woman has upped the whole air jail thing to a new level in a hilarious video online.

Josie will hopefully learn her lesson after her mama doled out the punishment.

The mom had hilariously put the small dog in her doggy carrier and hung on the car seat's headrest.

"Josie, you are in air jail because you chased the cat as soon as we got outside," her mama said from behind the camera in the clip. "Or walked down the street. And you made me chase after you? And you don't even look like you're sorry about it!"

Hmmm, we have to agree with mom here. Josie wasn't making eye contact at all.

Other people in the comments section agreed — Josie didn't regret anything. "Girl bye!!!, it was all worth it. Wait until I get out off air jail. YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHIN YET!!! MOM," one person joked. "Really mom! Air jail I am going to break out first chance I get!!" someone else teased. "She’s not sorry! She said 'She said put me down so I can do it again,'" another commenter agreed. "Josie’s just sorry she got caught," one woman pointed out.

Redirecting Bad Dog Behavior

Air jail is certainly one way to handle your problems. But if your dog is consistently getting into trouble you might want to start thinking of other ways to redirect their behavior — without punishing them.

The key here is not to scold your dog. Scolding doesn't really work. Instead you'll want to ignore bad behavior. Remember, attention is a reward to your dog. When you don't feed into it, they'll learn that action won't get them what they want.

You can also redirect their behavior to an object or activity. That can be chasing a ball or pulling out their favorite toy. Make sure you praise your dog when they do what you want them to do.

Something else you can do is is manage your dog's environment. Try removing triggers that may set your dog off. Or putting up gates to keep your dogs from engaging in bad behaviors.

You can also try giving you dog a time out. Just like with kids, dogs can get wound up. Give them some space to calm down and naturally stop acting up.

It might take some patience on your end, but there are many ways to behavioral changes can be made.
