Litkovskaya RTW Fall 2021
Lilia Litkovskaya added professor to her résumé in 2020, as she launched an educational project in the fall dubbed “Schooll” that’s aimed to nurture talent in her home of Ukraine. Her students’ hunger for knowledge became one of the biggest driving forces behind her fall 2021 collection, motivating her to search for solutions and techniques in her own practice.
It resulted in a streamlined collection filled with impressive constructions and poetic details, as the sleeves of garments were embroidered with the words “Come, Angel” — an ode to Ukrainian musician Igor Tsymbrovsky.

The look: Pared-back, modernist silhouettes, neutral colors and subtle details that made all the difference, from the drapes seen on tops to the structured shoulders featured on the coats or the corset details on the back of a striking white dress.
Standout pieces: A top featuring a corseted body and dramatic drapes across the shoulders, and mannish outerwear with fabric overlays creating extra large knots at the front.
Quote of note: “We decided to make this collection twice as small as our usual collections. We had to filter the ideas, picking the very best. It changed the whole process, [we turned our] focus to experimenting with form and looking for new ways to add our spirit,” said Litkovskaya.
