Listeria Outbreak: An Updated List of Products Linked to the Rizo-López Foods, Inc. Recall

They are sold at Trader Joe's, Costco, Walmart, H-E-B, and more.

On February 5, 2024, Rizo-López Foods, Inc. recalled over nearly 60 dairy products for potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Since then, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recalled even more products that are made with and contain the recalled dairy products. This includes things like salad kits, salad dressings, and taco kits.

Listeria is a bacteria that can cause serious harm or may be fatal to young children, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems. It can also cause miscarriage and stillbirths. As of February 9, 2024, the FDA has reported 26 illnesses, 23 hospitalizations, and two deaths linked to this recall. The cases were reported in 11 states, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington.
