  • The score for HBO's Watchmen, by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, is sensational, and a highlight of every episode.

  • The music was already available on vinyl, but is now available digitally on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.

  • This is the first of three Watchmen music volumes from Reznor and Ross.

Part of what's made HBO's new quasi-adaptation of Watchmen so intensely watchable has been what's going on behind the writing and acting on screen: the incredible score, put together by Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. We already knew that the duo would be selling the score on vinyl in three separate volumes throughout the run of the series, but now we've gotten even better news: the first volume is available to stream on Spotify, Apple Music, and even YouTube.

The score not only includes all the original music that we've been hearing both during scenes, in the background, and during transitions, but also several cutaway moments as well. These include things like the American Hero Story promo and the Seventh Kavalry's chilling video message.

Reznor and Ross announced the music's availability via a Tweet from the @nineinchnails account:

This is not the first time Reznor and Ross have worked on an amazing score together. The two—who today are the only permanent members of NIN—have collaborated with the likes of David Fincher (for the scores for The Social Network, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, and Gone Girl), Peter Berg (for Patriots Day), and Jonah Hill (for his directorial debut, Mid-90s). They also put together the score for last year's Netflix viral thriller Bird Box.

You can check the first volume out on Spotify below. Happy jamming:
