Listen: Blair Conklin and Benji Weatherly Talk Life, Surfing, and Skimboarding on 'Let's Poddy'

Blair Conklin is fun to watch. The Laguna Beach born and bred skimboarder and soft top surfer can rip just about any type of board.

Benji Weatherley, a former pro surfer of the Momentum Generation,  is also fun to watch. Basically, he's just fun to be around.

Put the two together and you get a really fun and entertaining episode of Weatherley's podcast, Let's Poddy.

On the podcast's Instagram, the clip was captioned:

"stoked to have blair on the poddy this week to talk all things skimboarding, surfing, and surf pool related! out now where you get your podcasts 🎧"

According to Let's Poddy's page, it's "the podcast where you learn absolutely nothing."

But we disagree.

One of the first things Blair mentions in the clip above is the time his friend put real fins in his soft top, which ended up slicing one of his nuts through his wetsuit.

That's accident prevention knowledge worth having. A cautionary tale.

If that got you hooked, you can listen to the full episode here.

According to the full vid's caption, "They talk about what it takes to be a professional skimboarder, the future for professional skimboarders outside of contest life, and a lot of off topic tangents in between with additional commentary by Kalani Robb."

Something else we learned is that it's no accident that Conklin skimboards like a surfer.

"I was always, like, really inspired by surfing," he said. "I wanted to look like I was surfing on a skimboard."

He says something's that allowed the sport to grow is, "When it started looking like surfing."
