The singer was rushed to the hospital on Jan. 12 following a medical emergency at her home.

Singer and songwriter Lisa Marie Presley has died. She was 54.

The devastating news comes just hours after her mother, Priscilla, asked fans for prayers following reports that the artist suffered a medical emergency at her home on Thursday that resulted in her hospitalization.

"It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us," Priscilla confirmed in a statement to PEOPLE on Jan. 12.

"She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time, there will be no further comment."

As Parade previously reported, Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital following a medical emergency at her home in Calabasas, California, on Thursday for a possible cardiac arrest. Someone is said to have administered epinephrine at the scene, with TMZ noting it was done to “help Presley regain a pulse.”

The outlet also reported Lisa Marie's mother and daughter, actress Riley Keough, were by her side shortly after she arrived at the hospital.

The only child of Priscilla and Elvis Presley, Lisa Marie attended the Golden Globe Awards on Tuesday night in Beverly Hills, where she appeared in good spirits and in support of Austin Butler, who won in the Best Actor category for his portrayal of her father and the King of Rock n' Roll in the eponymous biopic Elvis.

Born in Memphis, Tennessee, on Feb. 1, 1968,  Lisa Marie lived in the area until her parents divorced in 1973 when she moved to Los Angeles with her mother. She and her father remained close until his death in Aug. 1977, "I remember him as my dad, but he was a very exciting dad," she told Good Morning America back in 2009. She later inherited his famed Graceland estate.

She also followed in her father's footsteps and released three albums over the course of her career as a singer, including To Whom It May Concern, Now What, and Storm & Grace.

In Oct. 1988, Lisa Marie married Chicago-based musician Danny Keough, and the couple welcomed two children: daughter Riley in 1989 and son Benjamin in 1992. Lisa Marie and Keough later divorced in 1994.

Shortly after her divorce, she married Michael Jackson and the couple called it quits after a little over a year, with Lisa Marie filing for divorce in Dec. 1995.

The singer later wed Nicolas Cage in a secret ceremony on the 25th anniversary of Elvis' death, but four months after their wedding, the couple split up in 2002.

Lisa Marie said "I do" once more, in 2006, to music producer Michael Lockwood. The two welcomed twin daughters, Harper and Finley, in 2008 before separating in 2016. The couple's divorce was finalized last year, but according to multiple outlets, they remained at odds in an ongoing custody battle over their children.

In addition to being a musician and devoted mother, Lisa Marie was a philanthropist who oversaw the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation, which benefits homeless families and offers rent-free housing, daycare for children, and other services to those in need.

Lisa Marie is survived by her three daughters–Riley, Harper and Finley–mother, Priscilla, and was preceded in death by her son, Ben, who died by suicide in 2020.
