Lisa Ann Walter Discusses Potential 'Parent Trap' Sequel

The original 'Parent Trap' cast member has a brilliant, beyond brilliant idea.
Lisa Ann Walter is ready to dust off Chessy's denim shirt.
The actress, who currently stars on Abbott Elementary as Melissa Schmennti, teased whether she was prepared to once again portray the nanny/housekeeper/chili master in a sequel to Disney's The Parent Trap.
"If Nancy Meyers writes it and calls me, I'm there 100 percent," she exclusively revealed to Parade on Mar. 2.
And while Walter confirmed that "nobody has called me yet," she seemed hopeful about on day reuniting with co-stars Elaine Hendrix, Dennis Quaid and Lindsay Lohan.
"Lindsay, who now is coming back to working in the business, and she is so beautiful and so talented; certainly there would be a chance and opportunity for it," she said of a possible Parent Trap 2, "and people are probably there right now at Disney talking about it."

And it wouldn't be hard to get the cast back together again. Case in point: Walter recently walked the Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet with Hendrix, who played Meredith Blake in the 1998 film, as her plus one.
"Whenever Elaine and I take pictures together, [The Parent Trap reboot rumors take off]," she said, recalling a photo the two took together at the Tony Awards about five years ago, which also fueled rumors of a revival.
"I think what did it this time is that Elaine was in a tux; certainly, there was talk on the red carpet, and everybody wanted to know [if a second film is in the works]," she laughed.
As of right now, the fate of a sequel remains uncertain, but we know at least one of the original cast members is ready to board the Halcyon once more.
