What Are Shark Bites?
With over 232.5 views on TikTok, #sharkbitepiercing takes us back to the late '00s and early 2010s when lip rings were all the range. Snake bites consisted of one piercing at the outer corners of the lower lips, while shark bites have taken it up a notch by featuring two labrets on the lower lip, giving a unique and edgy look. The trend grabs its name from the rows of shark teeth that can be styled with hoops or stud rings.
Do It Hurt?
As someone who also had snake bites in college, I can attest to the fact that there may be some discomfort during the piercing process. However, I didn't experience any pain myself, but that's probably because I have a high tolerance for it. It really just depends on the individual and their pain threshold.
