Beloved actress Meryl Streep is known for her ability to shapeshift into any role she is given, from British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and the Prada-wearing “devil” Miranda Priestly to the singing and dancing “Mama Mia” Donna Sheridan.

So could the Oscar-winning actress play a villainous sea witch with six tentacles inspired by renowned drag queen Divine? Without a doubt. Should you dream cast her as a salty sea witch? Maybe not.

Lindsay Lohan shared on her Instagram that her dream role with Streep, whom she starred in A Prairie Home Companion, would be a remake of the Disney animated classic The Little Mermaid. Lohan then posted a photo of Ariel and Ursula, suggesting that she would be the mermaid and Streep would be the voice-stealing Ursula.

The 32-year-old actress tagged Walt Disney Studios in the post, so wink-wink, nudge-nudge Disney.

Lohan has vied for the part of the 16-year-old mermaid before, in 2017 to be exact, according to BuzzFeed. In a since deleted Instagram post, the former Disney star wrote “I will sing again, as #ariel #thelittlemermaid if Disney Studios will approve that #billcondon directs it along with my sister @alianamusic singing the theme song for the soundtrack.”

In 2017, however, Lohan cast Kristen Graham, a Crossfit Games competitor as her dream Ursula. “Simply because she is the best,” Lohan wrote at the time.

Response to Lohan’s dream casting of The Little Mermaid was mixed. One Instagram commenter wrote, “Well, Meryl Streep can play anything. I’m sure she would make a good Ariel. I don’t know about Lindsay as Ursula, though…” while a Lohan fan shared, “Ariel is meant for you.”

However, other fans of Streep were more like … hold up, did LiLo just come for our girl? What kind of shade is Lohan throwing when she wants beautiful, talented Streep to play the witchiest creature of the deep blue sea?

Well, it’s like Ariel always said: “…”

Nothing. She said nothing because Ursula stole her voice, remember?
