Lindsay Lohan has only been a mom for about 7 months, but she is already so tired of some of the comments she’s been getting. The Freaky Friday star appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show this week, and revealed the one thing she wants people to “stop saying” to her about motherhood — and we totally agree!

A Different Kind of Love

In a clip from the episode, host Kelly Clarkson tells Lohan “congratulations” about welcoming her baby Luai, who she shares with husband Bader Shammas. “How do you love it?” she asks.

“I love it, love it,” Lohan responds.

Clarkson explains that “you don’t have to become a mother or a father to be complete as a human, but I will say it feels like it did round me out.”

“It does,” Lohan responds. “It’s a different kind of love that comes into your life. And just a whole new world.”

“That you didn’t even know you were capable of!” Clarkson adds.

“Right. Exactly,” Lohan gushes. “It’s like you fall in love all over again and every single day. Even if there’s crying or anything.” Aww! She is practically glowing when she talks about the love she has for her son, and it’s so sweet to see.

Growing Up

After talking about motherhood, Clarkson brought up what seems to be a sore subject for the Mean Girls star. “They grow so quickly,” Clarkson says.

“We were just talking about that,” Lohan says, referencing her Irish Wish co-star Ayesha Curry, who is mom to three and pregnant with her fourth with husband Stephen Curry.

“Every stage is so cute,” Curry responds. “So, there’s always something to look forward to. But, time is so fleeting.”

“Everyone says, ‘he’s going to grow so fast,’” Lohan says. “I’m like ‘stop saying that to me.’ I just want to enjoy him.”

As a mom, I completely relate to what Lohan said. It seems like ever since my eldest son was born, people have been telling me to “enjoy this” and they grow so fast. Grabbing groceries with three little ones, people tell me, “I hope you appreciate it this because it doesn’t last forever” and things like that. And I get the sentiment, but still. It gets frustrating to hear the same thing over and over — not to mention a little depressing when the implication is you won’t like your kids as much when they get older.

That’s why Curry’s encouragement that moms will love every new stage their kids go through is such a beautiful reminder because it’s so true. There is always something new to look forward to, and your love will only grow through the years.

Best Mom Friend

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight earlier this month, Lohan shared that she turns to Ayesha often for advice. “I asked [Ayesha] questions behind the scenes,” Lohan told the outlet. “She has three, I could ask her, ‘Is this normal? Is this normal?’”

The A Parent Trap alum revealed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that she met Ayesha in Dubai, through their husbands. “We met and we just clicked right off the bat,” Lohan said. “It’s so funny, because like, when you get older in life, you don’t make, like, adult friends and friendships that grow.”

It always helps to have someone close to help keep things in perspective when you feel bogged down by annoying comments! Mom friends are truly the best.
