Lindsay Lohan may be diving head-first into filming amid her Hollywood comeback, but it may take a while longer for her to return to music.

In a new interview with Who What Wear, the Freaky Friday star revealed why she stepped away from music in the first place, and why she is reluctant to pick it up again.

"I slowed down on the singing because my sister’s biggest passion in life is singing, and I really wanted her to have that path and didn’t want to distract from that at all," she said, speaking of younger sister Aliana Lohan.

Ali, 28, is one of Lindsay's three siblings, and recently appeared alongside her famous sister in her comeback film Falling for Christmas. She also wrote and sang one of the songs in the flick's soundtrack, "Without You."

So, now that she is helping Ali follow her footsteps, Lindsay said it's unlikely she will release new music herself any time soon.

"If you hear music from me, it will hopefully be in a movie musical," she said. "I’ve done a ton of songs that are sitting, waiting. Maybe five years down the line, I’ll do another album."

At the peak of her fame, Lindsay released two albums, Speak in 2004, and A Little More Personal (Raw) in 2005. She has also sang in several of her films, including cult-classics Mean Girls and Freaky Friday, and most recently in her Netflix Christmas movie, Falling for Christmas.
