Both Johnny, and his 23-year-old daughter have been in attendance for this year's Cannes Film Festival, and although they have yet to hit the red carpet together, Lily-Rose is still showing support for her father.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star ignited controversy by stepping out at the event in Cannes, France, last week, an appearance that comes just a year after his highly-publicized defamation trial against ex Amber Heard.

Even though Johnny, 59, was considered to be victorious over Amber at the end of the trial, some of the public is still critical of the Fantastic Beasts actor as a result of both the exes' problematic behaviors that came out during the trial, including allegations of abuse.

But Lily-Rose still has her dad's back, as she made a rare comment about him while talking to Entertainment Tonight in Cannes on Tuesday, May 23.

When asked about the seven-minute standing ovation her dad received after the premiere of his new film, Jeanne du Barry, Lily-Rose insisted, "I'm super happy for him. I'm super excited."

"It's so awesome that we get to do projects that we're super proud of," referring to her own new HBO series, The Idol, which also premiered at the festival earlier this week.

"It was incredible," she said about the screening of the first few episodes. "It felt like such a beautiful celebration and a culmination of everything that we've been through together, and just kind of a beautiful process that was in the show, and creating this little family together, and it just felt really, really nice."

"Especially to get to celebrate together, and we're just so happy for the response from the room," she continued. "It felt really nice to watch the reaction and everything, and finally get to share something with the world that we're all so proud of."

The Idol premieres June 4 on HBO.
