Lily Collins Shares Bare-Faced Selfie With Poignant Message

Lily Collins took to social media this week to share her latest no-makeup selfie, but she had an important message to share with her followers, as well.

The natural beauty, 34, posted the new bare-faced snap to Instagram on Friday, June 2, flaunting her shaggy, layered haircut while she popped in a bright orange sweater.

But the Emily in Paris star wasn't just wearing the vibrant shade for fun, as she explained in her caption that she was dressed in orange as part of the Wear Orange Weekend, a movement that advocates for an end to gun violence.

"Today I #WearOrange to honor those whose lives have been lost or forever affected by gun violence," Collins wrote in her post, which was shared on National Gun Violence Awareness Day. "Thoughts and prayers are not enough - have never been enough."

She went on to recount how the Wear Orange movement came to be, explaining, "#WearOrange originated in 2015 to honor the life of Hadiya Pendleton, a high school student who was killed on a playground in Chicago. Her friends decided to commemorate her life by wearing orange, the color hunters wear in the woods to protect themselves and others."
