Lily Collins just took her 'mullet bangs' up a notch

When Lily Collins debuted a full fringe X side bangs combo, back in December last year, a quick hustle in the Cosmo beauty team chat led to the term 'Mullet Bangs'. The name caught on and now, we're wondering if it reached Lil herself, because she just got a fresh cut and the mullet bangs are so much mulletier than before. Did we speak them further into existence?
The work of celebrity hairstylist Gregory Russell, pics of the new trim were to Instagram. Writing in the caption, Gregory said; "Fresh cut for my beautiful angel @lilyjcollins ✨," introducing the updated take on Lily's 60s Mod style.
The neat full fringe from late last year is now choppy and shaggy, for an edgier finish. And the formerly soft, lightly tapered side bangs that flanked it either side, are now sharp, angular and blocky, cut harshly into the uniform blunt cut of her lob. And we are very into this bold look.
Last year's were just the warm up mullet bangs.
Whether or not it was a planned toe dip, or Lily just enjoyed them so much she wanted to take them up a notch, we'd highly recommend a halfway house when it comes to fringes and bangs. Dramatic fringe plunges, a la Emily in Paris, may make for good TV, but in real life? Fringe with caution.
We also can't give the bangs all the attention and not give a mention to the rest of Lily's luscious lob. Gregory hasn't detailed any of the products used for the 'do, but given Lily is a Living Proof ambassador we're guessing some of their products are probably to thank here. *adds to basket*
