Last year, Lily Collins had to skip the Met Gala, due to her filming obligations. "Believe me, I love going, but this year with [Emily in Paris] and everything, there's just a lot of dates that are going around and it just didn't work out this year," she said at the time. "And I'm so bummed but I definitely can't wait to go next time."

Tonight, she's making good on that promise, and is back on the carpet looking glamorous for the event celebrating the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute, and the legacy of designer Karl Lagerfeld. This evening, in keeping with the dress code "In honor of Karl," Collins is wearing a stunning Vera Wang gown featuring a white bustier top with puffed sleeves and a black skirt complete with "Karl" written on the train. She paired the look, which showed off several of her tattoos, with a bold red lip and gorgeous Cartier jewelry.

Both her earrings and her necklace offer a sneak peek at Cartier's new High Jewelry collection, Le Voyage Recommencé. The graphic necklace is particularly notable; not only does it feature striking black onyx and shield-shaped diamonds, including one specimen of more than 4 carats, but it can also transform and be worn as two separate pieces.

Earlier today, Collins posted on her Instagram in tribute to Lagerfield. She shared a photo of herself wearing a t-shirt featuring the late designer. It was captioned: "Everything Karl today..."
