Lily Collins Doesn’t Know What Her Natural Hair Color Is
Lily Collins just shared her beauty regimen with the New York Times Style section, and it’s just as lovely as you’d expect. The always flawless Lancôme brand ambassador shared that she uses the Lancôme Énergie de Vie line: the facial wash, the toner gel, and a cream.
Collins also said something that is oh-so-relatable to anyone who has spent more time and money on a colorist than they’d care to admit: She’s not really sure what her natural hair color is.
“I’ve kind of lost track of my natural color,” she said. “I just got back to brown from watermelon red. That was for a role. I was shooting a movie in Korea, and my character’s name is Red. It’s nice to be back to brown, because I know the makeup colors that work.”
Fortunately, her dad is the famous musician Phil Collins, and she’s been photographed her whole life, so it didn’t take much digging to find a few photos of a younger Lily rocking her natural color.
Here she is at 10 years old in 1999, wearing a cute bow and helping her dad celebrate his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. We’d guess the only thing that’s lightened her locks here is the warm California sun.
Here she is in 2000, just a normal 11-year-old rocking a major crimped look at the Grammys with her dad, with no hair color.
And here’s the star in 2008, just one year before her first major role, on the reboot of 90210. The gorgeous honey-brown color is very close to what we saw in her younger photos. Might this be the last time that anyone saw her natural hair color?
The actor, who stars next in Rules Don’t Apply, keeps her hair healthy with Kérastase, saying, “I’ve used the products forever. I use its Bain Force line, which is for repairing.”
Always remember, you may not know what your natural hair color is, but the Internet never forgets.
