Lili Reinhart Hints at Final “Riverdale” Season

On November 30, Lili Reinhart, who stars as Betty Cooper on Riverdale, jumped on Instagram Live to connect with fans and answer questions about the show’s latest episodes. During the chat, Lili teased that season seven could potentially be the last.

“No, this is not the last season of Riverdale,” she said in the Live. “Well it could be, I don’t know. We’re hoping for a season seven.” She then followed up in a faint whisper: “And then that will probably be the last one.”

“You didn’t hear it from me,” Lili added. “All 28,000 of you.”

Season six of Riverdale is currently airing on The CW after a months-long hiatus. The first five episodes will air weekly through the end of the year, and the rest of the season will be released in 2022. However, no official date has been announced and a season seven hasn’t been greenlit.

Lili then went on to address the somewhat-chaotic nature of the show, defending its outrageous storylines and plot twists.

“We’re very aware that our show is off-the-handle crazy, and that’s the point,” Lili said. “I think a lot of people don’t understand that...Our show is not real life, it’s a crazy world and it’s a made-up world, and you’re watching these characters go through these what-the-f*** moments all the time.”
