Lil Nas X Knows How to Make a Suit Feel Fresh—Add Heels

2019 has been the year of men in heels. Stars such as Harry Styles, Shia LaBeouf, and designer Marc Jacobs—who loves a hefty Rick Owens platform!—have stepped out in shoes with added lift, proving the style is no longer just for women. It’s only natural, then, that a fashion risk-taker such as Lil Nas X would hop onto the daring trend, too. Last night at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards in New York City, the rapper gave his sleek suit a boost with this surprising footwear choice.

For the fashion-filled evening, the “Old Town Road” artist wore a white suit from Off-White’s Spring 2020 menswear collection that had black spray paint all over it. To give the graphic two-piece even more punch, he then added a stark white boot with a thick block heel by United Nude, a square-toe design made in collaboration with model Shaun Ross. Tons of jewels by Lillian Shalom and tiny little sunglasses added even more cool factor to the look—though his eye-catching heels totally stole the show.
