“Lightning Brows” Are Taking Over Social Media

In the seemingly endless series of wacky brow trends taking over social media, we bring you the "lightning brow," which actually involves eyeliner, too. Check it out, here!

Wacky brows have been having a bit of a ~moment over the last few months, and the latest trend surfacing on social media is only further proof they're probably — kidding, make that definitely — not going anywhere anytime soon. But this one comes with a caveat.

Enter "lightning brows," a.k.a. the brand-new, mind-boggling brow obsession that actually involves incorporating eyeliner into the equation. (That's right, just when you thought it couldn't get any weirder, it does.)

International makeup artist, Zakia Wahbi, is the brains behind this electric brow-meets-liner look and wrote, "when I decide to be a #weirdo 😆" in her first debut post on Instagram before listing out all the products she used. Believe it or not, the arch actually looks totally normal until you get to the tail, which Wahbi shaped with Anastasia Beverly Hill Dip Brow in Dark Brown to make it resemble a lightning bolt.

As for the liner, Wahbi used jet-black gel eyeliner to create another lightning bolt in the outer corner where a cat-eye would normally sit. If you're skilled at liner, then this will likely be fairly easy for you to recreate, but if you tend to struggle, I suggest practicing until it starts to feel natural before trying this for a big night out.

To impart even more of a lightning-esque effect, Wahbi used Fenty Beauty's Trophy Wife highlighter all over the lid and in the crease with a subtle wing sitting in between where the end of the brow and the eyeliner meet. If you ask me, this could make for an incredibly easy Halloween outfit; just throw on an all-yellow ensemble and call yourself a lightning bolt. Or, if you just happen to be a fan of these outlandish brow looks, then why not start practicing right now?
