Lifetime Is Releasing a Record 28 Movies This Holiday Season, so Get Excited

We may be in the middle of July—and coming off a nationwide heat wave—but that doesn't mean we can't already be excited for the holiday season. Now, we usually don't want to wish away the rest of summer or a gorgeous fall, but Lifetime's announcement that it will release a record 28 movies as a part of its "It's a Wonderful Lifetime" programming lineup has us reconsidering our options.

Sure, some people get excited for the holidays because of a break from work, time with family and friends, or, well, presents, but we're all about that holiday movie life. And Lifetime is answering the call for more, more, more as they're outdoing their 23 movies from 2018. This year's slate, per People, will feature familiar faces like Melissa Joan Hart, Tia Mowry-Hardrict, and One Tree Hill's Hilarie Burton and Tyler Hilton.

Here's what we know about what to watch later this year—the plots and titles do not disappoint.

In Christmas Reservations, Hart plays Holly, an event planner at a ski resort where her widowed college sweetheart shows up with his two kids. Meanwhile, Mowry-Hardict owns an antiques store in A Very Vintage Christmas, where she finds a hidden box with mementos from an old romance. And in a One Tree Hill reunion, Burton and Hilton star in A Christmas Wish, in which Burton's sister (Megan Park) wishes that Burton would find true love, leading her to decide between Hilton's character and one played by Cristian De La Fuente. Interestingly, several OTH cast members reunited for a Lifetime movie last holiday season titled The Christmas Contract.

Happy endings (and holidays) may be guaranteed for these lovebirds, but that's part of the beauty of Lifetime Christmas movies. They're like comfort food: dependable and delicious.

“It’s a Wonderful Lifetime” starts on October 25 and runs through December 25.
