Don’t Nod, the publisher and developer behind titles like Life is Strange and Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, announced that it has reorganized its internal structure and formed three branches to support its distinct efforts in the RPG, narrative adventure, and action adventure genres. This will allow the developers at Don’t Nod to specialize in their respective areas of interest.

Naturally, there’ll still be crossover potential between the different branches to transfer skills and knowledge as well as exchange creative ideas.

With great ambitions for 2025 and beyond, the French company based in Paris and Montreal hopes that this move will provide it with the agility needed to navigate the rapidly changing environment that is the games industry. In addition to a faster reaction time to trends and evolving player preferences, this step is also supposed to emphasize the company’s dual role as developer and publisher.

Oskar Guilbert, CEO of Don’t Nod, explained: “Sustainability, innovation and creativity are the pillars of Don’t Nod’s strategy. Our commitment to fostering creativity and pushing the boundaries of storytelling and gameplay has led us to structure our organization, paving the way to deepening our specialized expertise in each genre. With a focus on strategic business growth, Don’t Nod seeks to solidify its position as a market leader by capitalizing on the popularity of RPGs, Narrative Adventures, and Action Adventures.”

“This new organization reflects our dedication to delivering high-quality games across successful gaming genres,” Guilbert added. “The expertise cultivated within these branches allows us to develop increasingly specialized in-house tools and ultimately, cost optimization in production. By improving our productivity and our internal capabilities, we aim to deliver memorable and unique gaming experiences that resonate with players worldwide.”

Along with this organizational announcement, Don’t Nod revealed that it was currently working on seven projects, five of which are developed internally. Of these, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, which is being worked on by Don’t Nod Montreal, is the only that’s been announced so far.

In addition to these internal projects, Don’t Nod is working with Studio Tolima on Koira and with Tiny Bull Studios on an unannounced title.
