Lidl, popular grocery chain, looking to open in Yonkers

Lidl, a German-based grocery store chain that prides itself on "high quality products at low prices," could be coming to Yonkers.

A proposed store for the Central Plaza Shopping Center on Central Park Avenue is in the city's site plan approval process.

A Lidl spokesperson said it’s too early to offer a specific timeline for the store's opening, but a rendering of the store has been completed.

Lidl dates to 1973 in Ludwigshafen, Germany, and now operates in 32 countries including more than 170 stores across the East Coast. This would be their first Westchester location.
