Liam Hemsworth Is 'Hurt But Not Surprised' About Miley Cyrus' Fling With Brody Jenner's Ex-Wife
Liam Hemsworth briefly broke his silence on his and Miley Cyrus' separation today in Australia, telling a Daily Mail Australia reporter that "you don't know what it's like. I don't want to talk about it, mate," when he was asked about Cyrus. But Entertainment Tonight spoke to a source who detailed exactly how Hemsworth feels about Cyrus' no-label summer vacation fling with Brody Jenner's ex-wife Kaitlynn Carter. He isn't surprised...but that doesn't mean he doesn't care.
"Liam loves Miley and is hurt, but he knows that she does this," the source said. "Miley and Liam very recently separated. Miley's behavior is no shock to Liam. He is hurt but not surprised. The last several months they've been talking about taking a break. Liam's been frustrated with some of her antics and, in turn, Miley claims she 'needs her space.' This seems to be a pattern in their relationship."
This may not be the end of them either, the source added: "Miley and Liam love each other and always will," the source started. "Most of their friends feel they'll be back together. No one thinks Miley and Kaitlynn are in a real relationship, they believe it's more fun on vacation."
ET's update comes just as TMZ reported that Cyrus really tried to make things work with Hemsworth before they chose to separate. She pushed for them to go to therapy, sources close to the couple said, and took other steps to make their marriage work. One source told TMZ that "he didn't come close to meeting her halfway."
Cyrus' rep's statement on the two's separation made it clear that this wasn't necessarily a final divorce. They're just taking space. As the rep said, "Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
