Liam Hemsworth Commented on His Separation From Miley Cyrus for the First Time

Following news that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have separated, Liam made his first public comment regarding the end of their marriage.

During a Monday outing with his brother, Chris Hemsworth, Liam was asked for a comment by a reporter from Daily Mail Australia. He allegedly responded, "You don't understand what it's like. I don' wanna talk about it, mate."

Liam's comments were made after Miley made an Instagram post on Sunday that seemed to reference the breakup. Along with a photograph of herself, Miley addressed "change" in her life, writing, "Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win. Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once under water, connected with Africa, change is inevitable.”

On Sunday, People reported that a rep for the pair confirmed that after less than a year of marriage, Miley and Liam were going their separate ways. “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time," the rep said. "Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”

The pair have known each other since 2010, when they met on the set of The Last Song. Since then, they had dated on and off; they married in December 2018.
