He's laughing off the awkward introduction.

Lewis Capaldi is a good sport!

The singer, 26, took the stage last night at the 2023 BRIT Awards held at the O2 arena in London to sing his hit single, "Forget Me," from his upcoming sophomore album, Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent.

But while being introduced to the audience and the millions of people watching, the host, Mo Gilligan, accidentally called Capaldi by the wrong name: "Sam Capaldi."

Following the singer's performance, the comedian was quick to apologize.

"What a performance! Please give it up for Lewis Capaldi with a house gospel choir, everyone," Gilligan said, adding, "I do apologize; I just called him Sam. It just goes to show how strong the drinks are at the BRITs. They're not playing around."

Capaldi didn't get a chance to react live on television, but he quickly headed over to Twitter to respond in the most hilarious way possible.

The singer photoshopped his head onto a photo of the "Unholy" crooner, Sam Smith, who also attended the BRIT Awards last evening, donning a shiny black leather jumpsuit that ballooned out on each side of their hips and featured puffed-up shoulders.

"Sam capaldi x," he captioned the hilariously edited photo.

Many fans were also quick to react to the moment online, with one fan sharing a clip of the introduction before questioning "who" the host was referring to.
