Levi’s welcomed Oscar nominated actress America Ferrera and friends last week to the Levi’s Haus in Los Angeles.

On Friday, Karla Welch, a Levi’s collaborator and Ferrera’s long-time stylist and friend, and Levi’s hosted an intimate dinner to celebrate the actress and her Oscar nomination for “Barbie” on International Women’s Day.

The dinner kicked off Women’s History Month and the weekend of events leading up to the Academy Awards on Sunday. Though Ferrera didn’t take home the award, the event was an opportunity to celebrate Ferrera’s and the film’s impact on women empowerment.

Ferrera is an activist for women’s rights. “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate women,” Welch said in a statement. “I’m so proud of America—everyone is seeing her in this new light that I’ve been lucky enough to witness from the day we met.”

Guests included “Barbie” director Greta Gerwig, Ariana Greenblatt, Ana Cruz Kayne, Tracee Ellis Ross, Ari Graynor, Angela Manuel Davis, Erica Cloud and more.

The L.A. Levi’s Haus serves as a showroom and site for many brand activations. Guests were greeted with custom cocktails before sitting down for an omakase sushi dinner by Morihiro.

Custom vintage Levi’s Trucker Jackets were draped over each chair at the table, complete with custom Barbie-inspired “America” patches. Guests were given the opportunity to customize their jacket with the help of an on-site Levi’s tailor.
